In our paper, the sequence of the gene encoding the M. tuberculosis Erdman 16-kDa major extracellular protein was
included. Between submission and publication of our paper, Manca et al. reported the DNA sequence of the gene encoding this protein, referred to as MPT 63, in M. tuberculosis H37Rv. The DNA sequence of
the 16-kDa protein gene from the Erdman strain of M. tuberculosis that we reported is identical to the sequence of
the 16-kDa protein gene from the H37Rv strain of M. tuberculosis
reported by Manca et al. This reference was inadvertently omitted
from our
paper:
