  • a Three colostrum-deprived piglets were infected orally with approximately 5 × 1010 viable bacteria of each C. jejuni strain. At 3 days postinfection, the piglets were euthanized, and the level of bacterial colonization was determined for each intestinal segment (duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, and colon). The data represent the mean CFU for each strain per gram of tissue.
